I was chatting with some co-workers yesterday who mentioned that they sat by reporter Lisa Ling on their flight back from LA this week. It reminded me of how Anderson Cooper and Lisa Ling both used to be on a series called Channel One that aired in middle schools (maybe high schools too). It was a five or six minute news program that went over the biggest headlines, etc. They had one or two commercials during each morning airing of the show and one still sticks out in my head. Bubble Yum had a spot with a bunch of ducks running away from a duck in a Mohawk and spiked collar who was so “punk” cuz he was chewing Bubble Yum. Sounds horrible, but still 15 years or more later when I think of gum I think of Bubble Yum and this commercial. I’m sure I am the only one, but that has to mean something for that ad, or perhaps that is was just so terrible it hasn’t left my brain.
